Butterflies

We hatched butterflies again this spring, as it is such an amazing transformation. The kids love watching the quick changes, and I still can't believe that a butterfly emerges from the chrysalis that the caterpillar magically assembles. It is just as awesome for me as the kids. And then letting them go... always so magical.

Downtown, Playground

It is so nice to be out and about again. We are thriving on nice weather and experiences away from home.

These Boys...

I really can't get enough of them. They are so sweet and so hilarious. And always want to be near, hence the abundance of extra "boy photos." Sometimes it is exhausting, but I will miss it when they don't want me around anymore.

And Amusement Parks?

Seriously, I don't know how many times I can write, "first time since the pandemic," but here we are again. First time... back to the Great Escape! With social distancing rules in effect, sanitization measures, and capacity limits, we are feeling safe being outside doing something fun! Being back at the Great Escape did not disappoint. Especially for the grown ups, since MiniM.E. is finally tall enough to be our accompanying 54" or taller person for the boys.

Our First Spring Beach Day

The weather's been a bit crazy. There was a covering of snow on Wednesday. Thank goodness that didn't last, and the weather today was beautiful. We ate breakfast out at a restaurant (outside) for the first time since the pandemic. It was fantastic. Simply Foods is just down the road and has a great patio with lawn games. Of course, the boys found the TV inside...

With full bellies, we decided to be adventurous this afternoon and hike down from the upper parking lot at Moreau to spend the late afternoon at the beach. The kids loved it, even though the water was hurt-your-feet cold and we didn't find any salamanders.

Spring Run Trail

The first of many walks at the Spring Run Trail this spring. Today's mission was collecting frog spawn. Mission accomplished. Hopefully onto raising tadpoles in a couple weeks.
