Long Island

We so excited to finally be able to travel and our first trip had to be to visit Baby M, who we haven't seen since he was two months old. We were lucky to find an Airbnb just blocks from Long Beach, about 45 minutes from Bob's brother's house. It was great to see Baby M (and his mom and dad). He's grown so much! The kids had a blast playing at the playground we could walk to from their house.

Saturday we decided to spend the day at the beach. Baby M isn't an early riser, so we had time to walk around and get breakfast at a diner first. Our first meal out as a family post-pandemic!

The beach was amazing. There were hardly any people, and the waves were big and the water was surprisingly warm. The only kid that wasn't a fan was Mr.T., but he fell asleep soon after we arrived, which made the day easier. MiniME and SlimJim couldn't get enough of the water. LittleLG built in the sand with Baby M.

After church Sunday, we walked the Nautical Mile and had italian ice, then spent the rest of the afternoon at the beach before our last dinner with Baby M. It certainly won't be a year and half before we visit again!

A Bigfoot Birthday

SlimJim turned four yesterday. It's always amazing how quickly a year goes by. Right now, he's into lots of boy things, but he two favorite things are Bigfoot and Gram. So for his birthday, we went to Gram and Grumpy's for a bigfoot birthday.

SlimJim's birthday weekend started out with all the fun things we do in NH, the backyard playground, trampoline, zipline, hot tub and a trip to the playground. On his birthday, he eagerly opened presents throughout the day. Being such a Bigfoot enthusiast, he requested a Bigfoot costume and slippers and couldn't wait to open them. Auntie Jen came for pizza and cake. I think SlimJim was the happiest with his birthday I've seen any of our kids.

SlimJim, we are so proud of you! You are the best big brother, always looking out for Mr.T. (as long as he isn't playing with something you want). You are always ready to make someone laugh or tell us a story, and your giggle is contagious! You are always ready for a challenge- daredevil, but also always ready for a cuddle. My favorite thing is when, out of nowhere, you say, "Mommy, I love you way, way, way, way, way much!" Happy Birthday Little Guy!
