The Start of Birthday Weekend

LittleL.G. requested a very small party this year with just our oldest friends, so we celebrated in a very small, low-key way on Saturday. Store bought pinata which required an axe to break, store bought cake, and a BBQ.

SlimJim really likes to blow out candles. LittleL.G. really doesn't like that he does.

To finish off the evening LittleL.G. got married and the bride and groom fed each other cake.

Sunnyside Gardens

Yesterday we just "hung around."

Today it was off to Sunnyside Gardens for our annual playgroup field trip.

Complete with the traditional wagon photo!

New Hampshire in the Fall: Charmingfare Farm

Another fantastically fun New Hampshire thing we've done a couple times in the fall, and a few times when I was younger is take a horse drawn wagon ride. I thought SlimJim especially, would get a kick out of it.

When we found that there was a pumpkin festival at a nearby farm that included a wagon ride, we knew we couldn't miss it!

It was a fun day with a tractor ride, pony rides, lots of animals to see, and some hay bales to roll on. I even painted faces in case face painting would be there since two of my three wouldn't sit for someone else to do it for them. Sadly the horse drawn wagon ride never happened. The kids still had a great time and didn't know any better, but the grown ups were pretty disappointed!

New Hampshire in the Fall: Apple Picking

We try to get to New Hampshire for at least one weekend in the fall. The drive over is beautiful, seeing the foliage in the mountains, and something about the foliage there is just amazing. Maybe it's just remembering fall at home... but I do enjoy fall in New Hampshire...

Especially apple picking at Meadow Ledge Farm and their cider donuts (which aren't like anything they have in NY) and the wagon ride to the orchard.
