Animal Land

One of our favorite summer destinations is Animal Land. Somehow our summer was so busy last year that we never made it. The weather today was in the 70s and Daddy already had the day off so we decided Animal Land would be the perfect way to end the week.

Lots of Rest and Just Hanging Around

This week Daddy was off work to get some things done around the house and to spend time with the kids while I got things ready for school. With SlimJim in the thick of the virus and feeling pretty terrible, things didn't really go as planned.

There were a couple days off from swim, and more splitting up of parents and kids than we intended. We tried to get things done, get ready for school, and get the kids healthy.

I think everyone is better enough for us to take the last day of Daddy's week off to do a day trip to Animal Land!

Big Trucks Day

If there's one thing SlimJim loves, it's trucks. Well, I suppose I should say vehicles. Trucks, school buses, diggers... So we knew we had to make it to Big Trucks Day this year.

This morning, after a week of complaining of not feeling very well, I had made an appointment for LittleL.G. to get checked at the doctor. SlimJim spiked a fever last night and woke up feeling sick and with crusty eyes, so I brought him along too. Ugh! Virus for both kids... just have to wait it out.

We decided to give Big Trucks Day a go anyway, with some Tylenol for LittleL.G. and SlimJim. I'm glad we went because the kids had a great time checking out all the trucks.

I can't believe how much faster time seems to go with the fourth baby. My little guy is sitting and almost on the move!

Birthdays, Splash Pad and More Swimming

Sunday was a bounce house and face painting birthday party. 

Monday after swimming we tried the Gavin Park Splash Pad. It was the perfect day for it, and going at the end of the day meant very few kids.

We tried for an adorable photo of all the kids... this was the best I could get.

We tried again... but to no avail. I suppose I'm asking too much for all the kids to smile nicely at the same time!

The rest of the week has been more swim. 

By the middle of the week SlimJim had had it. He was done with swim and decided to nap on the blanket instead.
