Mom's Weekend in NYC

For the first time, a couple of my mom friends and I took a moms only overnight trip to NYC.

We drove in and walked around the city for a while without pushing strollers or stopping every half an hour to find a bathroom or change a diaper or locate a snack somewhere in the diaper bag. We browsed in stores and no one complained they were tired and wanted to go home.

We ate dinner at Beyond Sushi, which felt like very grown up food, way past bedtime and walked around some more, even ending up at a bar and staying out past midnight!

Yesterday we ate breakfast at By Chloe, did a lot of walking, a lot of shopping, had a lovely long coffee break and sat in the salt room at Breathe.

The kids and dads survived the weekend.

West Side Rec

One of our favorite places to visit is the spray park at West Side Rec. With the newly renovated playground, splash pad, and plenty of shade to lie out blankets, there's always something for everyone to do.

Today we met some friends, but got there early, so we took a mini-trip over to the "other playground" by the bathroom which consists of big kids swings a metal truck and the awesome metal slides.

Back at the other side of the playground, now that BabySlimJim is walking, he was all about the splash pad.

It was a great morning playing and spending time with friends we don't see often enough!

Face Painting and the County Fair

Today we decided to check out the Saratoga County Fair.

I knew the girls would want their faces painted once they saw someone with face paint so we decided to save a little money and I painted them at home.

Once we got there LittleL.G. almost immediately fell asleep- it was hot and she wasn't super excited about walking through exhibits. While she napped, BabySlimJim enjoyed all the animals and tractor displays.

MiniM.E. did a 4H scavenger hunt, we met up with some friends, walked through an exotic petting zoo and saw some dance competition. It was a fun couple hours, but after walking around for a while in the heat, we needed a break and left to go out to dinner.

Some Indoor Fun

We have been spending a ton of time outside, which everyone loves. And we've been lucky this summer that we've had such nice weather. Thursday was drizzly and not so nice so we met some friends at an indoor gym in Ballston Spa called We Rock the Spectrum.

With a zip line, a trampoline, a carpet slide and tons of swings and things, the kids had a blast playing there for a few hours.

Then today we went to a birthday party at one of the kids' favorite indoor playgrounds, the Tree Paad.
Both girls rocked the rock climbing:

And who doesn't like pizza and cake?

This Guy

not sure about a photo session on the swings

not sure about this sand stuff

definitely not liking it in his eyes

but quickly fixed with a bath in the sink

because everything is fine as long as you can eat a collander
