In the early days of our COVID quarantine, when we were seeing absolutely zero people and also thought it was going to last... maybe a month or two... we needed some fun activities to look forward to on the weekend and planned our first annual Christian Seder Dinner. It was very memorable for the girls and a great way to make Easter about Jesus. The girls really wanted to do it again. Saturday we had our second Mulfinger Seder dinner. This time Gram and Grumpy were able to come. I would say it was even better than last year! Now we are all looking forward to Easter. We made time today to dye some eggs and we will all head to NH on Friday to celebrate with Gram and Grumpy and Auntie Jen.

Driving and the Dairy Haus
We promised SlimJim we would take the power wheels out when the snow melted, and when we finally got it down and charged up it was like Christmas morning... until Mr.T. wanted to be the “driver” too. After the initial tantrum, SlimJim drove, let Mr.T. steer while he did the “gas” and then had another turn to drive. I don’t think this is the last of our power wheels debacles .
Another exciting event for our week, the Dairy Haus has been open for a couple weeks but we haven’t been yet. Gram is here, which is a perfect excuse for a treat, so we took our first trip of the year to the Dairy Haus! Much improved over our Dairy Haus trips last year, when it was drive up and take away and we had to find another place to eat.

What a Change
A week makes! Last week the kids were out in giant puddles surrounded by snow, and this week they are out in shorts (and this time, they aren’t the only ones!).

Finally, Spring!
We have been anxiously awaiting warmer weather, and even though 40s and 50s certainly aren’t "summer weather", the kids are treating it like we should be at the beach. Hilarious, especially with snow still covering most of the yard. Just their excitement to be outside is the change I have been needing!
Dancing on the deck, bubbles on the drive and an extra special treat today of a walk and lunch downtown.

A Much Needed Swim
The kids start asking about when the weather will be nice enough to swim again just a few weeks after Gram and Grumpy's pool closes. While their hot tub is at least a chance to get in the water, it isn't really swim-able, though the kids certainly try. At least a few times a winter we usually make it to some sort of pool or waterpark, but with COVID, everything is closed or too populated.
Auntie Jen found a great option: the gym near her house, geared toward the senior community, rents their pool by the hour. Yesterday, we stopped by her house to have lunch and visit with her new kitty, Monday, then took an early afternoon swim in an olympic sized pool- just us! The kids probably could have stayed the whole afternoon. Luckily for the grown-ups, the water was actually warm, so it was nice to be in the water. At a time where we are just about fed up with quarantine and snow and winter, swimming was just what we needed!
