The Start of Our Summer of Swim

Monday was the start of our "Summer of Swim"- day one of six weeks of swim lessons.

It was extra exciting because C. and H. are staying with us this week and H. is swimming with the girls.

It was a crazy morning getting five kids and two moms out of the house, and a little tricky figuring out our first day, but no one can complain about a morning at the pool and a picnic at the playground!

Yesterday afternoon after day two of swim, the big kids went to the Ninja gym and I took the little guys to a nearby playground.

It's always a good time with extra kids in the house.

The Last Week of Pre-Summer

Homeschooling the kids, we get a huge jumpstart on summer since we finish earlier than the public school. While I enjoy the pool or the beach any time, I much prefer fewer people. We've also signed up for swimming for a good part of summer this year, so we have to squeeze in our summer fun before it starts.

We made it to a couple beaches this week, but also spent some time enjoying our yard.

Midweek, MiniM.E. also had an exciting surprise at Tae Kwon Do when she received her high purple belt.

We finished out a great week with a trip to the vet (one of the girls favorite things to do), and a
joint birthday party for two of our best little friends.

Church Picnic

Today was the kick off of summer at our church, SSUMC. To celebrate the summer schedule, the start of summer, and the moving on of one of our pastors, there was a big church picnic. The kids had a blast!

PS. We need a slip n slide! So fun!

The Littles

MiniM.E. spends most of her time doing big-kid stuff and is rarely ever hanging on my legs anymore so it is harder to catch her in spur of the moment photos.

Here are some of the most recent little guys (and gal).

Splash Pad and a Picnic with Friends

We have been trying to enjoy all our outdoor favorite spots before summer vacation hits. Top on the list was the splash pad at West Side Rec.

We also tried to squeeze in a playgroup picnic at the park before summer tourists and racing season.
All these kids play so well together!

And I feel so lucky that all these grown ups get along so well together too!
