Finally in Virginia!

After a breakfast full of excitement, primarily caused by me exploding a small box of fruit loops all over the breakfast area, we packed up and headed out.

We were so excited to finally arrive at Auntie Jen's! Of course, as any aunt does, she spoiled the kids with gifts of giant lollypops and beanie boos. There were also surprise toys: confetti filled balloons and tiny cups and pom poms, which kept everyone occupied for a while.

A highlight of Auntie Jen's house is her backyard with the super tall swing. It is almost impossible to pump, but it looks like tons of fun to be pushed!

We also pet Lil K the fluffy kitten. And of course, boys being boys, SlimJim tried to also pet the fish.

We grabbed a bite to eat and hung out in hotel courtyard while we waited to check in. The kids played with sticks and were silly with Auntie Jen.

Then it was pool, hotel happy hour, dinner and bed, so we can have more fun tomorrow!

Easter Morning and Afternoon Drive

Happy Easter!

This morning we got up and opened Easter baskets, went to church, came home for an Easter Egg Hunt and brunch, then got in the already packed car and started our drive to Virginia to see Auntie Jen.

We had a pretty good start to the drive

But by the end of the day things were pretty rough. SlimJim was DONE in the car after not napping all day, and by the time we got to the hotel around 9:30 we thought he didn't want to go to sleep and wanted to go home because he was crying at the door. Turns out he just wanted to run in the hall!

A few more hours to drive tomorrow!

Some Downtime

After a week of sick, and looking forward to our big trip to Virginia to visit Auntie Jen next week, we've just been taking it easy, and trying to keep the germs at bay by spending as much time as we can outside time outside.

And some cute pictures of the boys:

Just the Boys

These boys have such a great relationship already. SlimJim loves his baby so much. He is never jealous and is always happy to share a lap... or a play mat... or a rock n play...

And when they aren't together, these photos sum up their personalities to a T.

The Worst Stomach Bug EVER!

Where have we been, you might be wondering? In the house. Sick. Well, really only LittleL.G.- for an ENTIRE WEEK. It was so bad I had to call in the reinforcements (thanks for helping, Gram!) because one kiddo who is too sick to even get off the couch, talk, or eat, and three other kids who need mom too was just too much!

It all started last Saturday when we had plans to BBQ with some friends. Of course LittleL.G., being my homebody, didn't want to go. So she started with the usual, "I don't feel good!" We bribed her by making cookies and brownies to celebrate that she learned to ride a bike without training wheels. She seemed ok but didn't want to eat lunch because her stomach hurt. BUT, she doesn't eat much anyway. I should have been tipped off that she really wasn't feeling well when she said she "didn't know" if she would eat dessert... but I still thought she just wanted to stay home.

So we are at our friends' house. She is having a great time, playing outside, somersaulting in the basement, until just before dinner when she says she still doesn't feel good. But she eats dinner. Then she starts to not look so hot. I have her on my lap and she does the typical, "my throat hurts!" (why is it always the throat??!?!) and throws up dinner all over the table. We book it out of there, and so it began.

This was LittleL.G. this past week. Poor kid had to wear SlimJim's clothes home from our friends' house. And then didn't move from the couch for seven days!

Needless to say we haven't been doing much. LittleL.G. has needed her mom, and I am so grateful Gram is here to take MiniM.E. and SlimJim out of the house once in a while!

Just today, a week later, LittleL.G. is finally more herself and off the couch, so we were able to leave LittleL.G. with Gram to go to a birthday party.

Thank goodness it's over! And no one else caught it!
