Winter Fun

Since it will be hard to get all the kids out to go sledding this winter, Daddy made a mini sledding hill in the yard with the snowblower. Even though it's not too big, it's pretty fun, and definitely gives the kids something else to do when they play in the yard.

It's also fun to walk down to the cul de sac down the street and play on the giant piles left by the snowplow.

Finally Home

It is certainly going to take some time to adjust to being a family of six, but so far Baby4 fits right in and everyone is so happy he's finally here. He's quiet and easy going. He likes to be held (which is good, because everyone wants to hold him) and cat naps most of the day and eats most of the night. We'll have to work on that...

Baby4 Meets the Family

Yesterday the girls came to see Baby4... twice! Because they couldn't get enough. All they wanted to do was take turns holding him and it is beyond adorable how much they love him already.

Today we got to come home. It was the first time SlimJim came to the hospital because we all thought it would be too hard on him to see me and have to go home without me. I was a bit disappointed he didn't seem to miss me at all, but the best surprise was how excited he was to meet his baby!

We are so glad to be home!

Welcome Baby4!

Baby4 was the first baby we had to forcefully evict. At 9 days late and estimated to be over 9.5 lbs, it was time to get him out. Bob and I spent the night at the hospital last night, hoping to get things started, but everything looked the same this morning. It was a day of slow progress, and even as our fantastic nurses got ready for the shift change at 7, it looked like baby was a long way off.

In the same fashion as the last two, Baby4 decided to go from 4-10 in 5 minutes flat and he was out by 7:16! He's a big guy, weighing in at 9lbs 13oz., 21" long.

We are so in love!

While We've Been Waiting...

Last Minute Snowcation

Since the weather predicted a snowpocalypse for last night, we all drove down to Albany to stay in the Hilton attached to Albany med just in case the new little man decided to make his entrance in the middle of the storm. Given my high risk status and history of fast labor, I couldn't risk staying home and getting stranded there or stuck on the way to the hospital.

Of course, he didn't decide to make his appearance, but it was a fun, snowy adventure. The hotel was amazing. We lucked out with a 7th floor corner room suite- a great place to watch the snow pile up. We got to swim in a (very cold) pool, we ate out for dinner and had a buffet breakfast. Way more exciting than staying home in the storm!

Off to serve this little dude his eviction notice tonight.
