C & H's 5th Annual Summertime Visit

C. & H. have visited us (almost) every summer since MiniM.E. was a baby. This year we planned a long weekend of all their favorite NY activities: Spray Park, Animal Land and the Great Escape.

They arrived Thursday night. Since the weather was pretty terrible all week and we only made it to one swim lesson, we dragged them along to swimming on Friday morning. H. and LittleL.G. played in the kiddie pool while MiniM.E. had her lesson.

In the afternoon we went to the Spray Park.

And came home for some outside time and a BBQ.

Saturday we headed to Adirondack Animal Land. Everyone had a great time with the animals.

 

 

 

 

 

 

And stopped for ice cream on the way home.

Then we roasted hotdogs over the fire for dinner.

Yesterday we spend the day at the Great Escape and C. & H. left for home from there since it was half an hour closer to home.

What Have We Been Up To?

The last week or so we have been swimming in the morning and taking it easy in the afternoon. Enjoying playing outside, and taking it easy.

**Yes, this is my two year old wearing my two month old in a doll carrier, which I am fully aware is not intended for carrying actual babies. The baby was in the carrier for less than 5 minutes. The floor was covered with pillows, I was less than 6 inches away from the baby and my daughter was fully supervised and stationary for the duration.

A Relaxing Long Weekend

After swimming almost everyday for two weeks, it was time for a long weekend... to go to NH for... more swimming!

I spent a lot of time in the pool with the girls and sometimes BabySlimJim, and when I wasn't in the pool I had a fussy BabySlimJim on my hip, which made taking pictures in the pool next to impossible.

But I did get a couple cute dry photos of the weekend:

The most exciting part of the weekend for the girls were (early birthday present??) new bikes from Gram and Grumpy since MiniM.E. had outgrown her old bike and the tiny bike she started on that LittleL.G. would have used broke.

MiniM.E. is a speed racer and goes even faster on the bigger bike. LittleL.G. loves her bike and can pedal on her own, but she wants to fast like MiniM.E. and has had a few spills... 

Last Day of Swimming: Session One

On this miserable, cold Friday, MiniM.E. had her Fun Friday (a.k.a. the last day of swimming lessons which isn't really lessons because they just fool around in the pool, jump off the diving boards a lot and eat junk food).

She has made a ton of progress this session and passed her level. We are looking forward to swimming lessons: session two- especially LittleL.G. who will start parent-tot lessons.

We weren't sad to end swimming since we will be starting again next week, but all our friends only signed up for session one, and it will be sad not to have mom company during lessons and I'm sure the girls will miss their friends for playground time and picnic lunches.
