Our First Lake Day of the Summer

We've been up to Moreau Lake to hunt salamanders in the late spring every year since we moved up this direction. The kids love wading in the freezing water and collecting lots of the slimy lizards. This year, we were a bit late on our first trip of the year up to the lake, and the lifeguards were already working and the beach was already mucked out and roped off, so there weren't any salamanders to be seen. There weren't any beach-goers to be seen either, as it was probably 65, cloudy and breezy when we arrived. 

Yet despite the weather, the kids all went swimming anyway!

And before the day was out, we even found one lonely salamander!

Back In Business!

It's heartbreaking to see one of the kids under the weather, so I was thrilled to see that LittleL.G. was feeling well enough to hit up the playground (and unexpectedly the sprinklers) while MiniM.E. was at Tae Kwon Do tonight. 

SlimJim wasn't quite so brave in the water, but he loved the zipline!

Almost Summer!

We've been enjoying the almost summery weather! Taking walks downtown after music:

Not letting the rain get the best of a powerwheels ride:

And going to a Memorial Day Parade:

Sadly, LittleL.G. ended up with another stomach bug after the weekend, but at least this time it was short lived and she's on the mend!

The Week of Party!

SlimJim doesn't get quite the bash that the girls did for their second birthdays. But he does get an entire week full of mini-parties- no fancy decorations, no homemade cake, and just a few party guests- but there are a bunch of mini-parties, so that should count as equally awesome. 

Just the Boys

The girls headed off with Gram on Thursday to spend a couple nights at Gram and Grumpy's house. While they were having a great time in NH... 

Here it was just the boys... 

It was nice to spend some quality time with SlimJim (and Baby4, but he still doesn't do much yet). But it will be nice to have the girls back!
