It's the Little Things

Today we drove down to Albany for an ENT visit for Leah. As a treat for such good behavior while waiting for hours at the office, we stopped for lunch at the Ruby Tuesday at the mall. There was an escalator and I'm fairly certain the girls could have ridden up and down until the mall closed.

Who knew? Why do I pay for indoor playgrounds when we could just ride escalators???

A Tea Party and Tae Kwon Do

Daddy is in Germany this week and since my foot is still healing and not quite up to driving around, Gram is back to stay with us for the week. Not to mention having help with three kids even when my foot is fine is much appreciated.

Yesterday, since most kids had the day off from school we met up for a tea party with MiniM.E.'s friends who are usually in school during the week.

And then LittleL.G. had her first Tae Kwon Do class. She is technically a bit too young, but she has been begging for Tae Kwon Do lessons like MiniM.E. for months. The owner agreed to let her do a month trial and she is beyond excited to be doing real Tae Kwon Do in her "costume"!
She killed it. And it was adorable.

Back to School

We take the month of December off from "real school" to focus on Christmas and while there is definitely tons of learning happening, it has a much more relaxed feel than our normal school days.
We started back to "real school" surprisingly happily: a new Language Arts Curriculum for MiniM.E. and some exciting arctic science and art projects.

Back Home

We are back at home with Gram to chauffeur us around to our activities for a few days since I still can't drive.

I think it's good for us to start getting back into our normal routine. The girls were excited to start our Music Together class with all their friends. It was nice to see everyone since we hadn't been together since before Christmas.

Today Gram went home and we will be stranded at home for a couple days til Daddy is home on the weekend, but at least I can get around the house.

The exciting event of today was collecting a bearded dragon to send home with Gram to our friends C & H in NH. Unfortunately, MiniM.E. formed quite an instantaneous bond with Margo, but we are definitely not keeping a lizard... Safe travels Margo and Gram!

And... We're Back...

As it turns out having a broken foot and using crutches makes it terribly difficult to climb the stairs in my house and carry a baby around- not to mention I can't drive yet... so here we are back in NH at Gram and Grumpy's so I can get some help taking care of the kids and getting around.

It's also really nice to be here because Auntie Jen and Dan are here through the weekend and now we get to spend more time with them than we would have if we were still back in NY. We did another mini-Christmas with Dan and Jen and have just been hanging around and playing inside with Honey Bunches. We got about a foot of snow yesterday, which was exciting to watch, but its much too cold and windy to go out and play.

LittleL.G. has been taking lots of photos for me:

Happy New Year!

Auntie Jen and Dan drove back to NY to spend New Year's Eve with us. While we didn't have a big party planned and it was far too cold to venture out for First Night, we did manage some yummy appetizers, a slow motion movie and some minute to win it games before we did a pre-midnight Netflix countdown.

Happy New Year!
